About Me:I am what most people would classify as a geek.
(Not the kind of geek who lives in my parent's basement and hasn't learned how to shower, but the kind of geek who can talk for hours about the things I love despite the glazed over look of the person listening.)
Since one of my favorite things to geek out about is bowling, I figured this would be a good place to be.
Music:I like a little bit of everything
Movies:I love almost all movie genres except romantic comedies and American horror. I am a bit of an independent film geek.
TV:PBA on Sundays, Chuck, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS, House, Picket Fences, Birds of Prey, Dr. Who, TORCHWOOD, Burn Notice
Books:When I have time to read, I'll read just about anything I can get my hands on. (Except Romance and badly written horror)
Likes:I love my computer, books, naps, movies, and everyone I meet for the first five minutes.
Dislikes:coconut, newsprint, alcohol, Chinese food, bad attitudes, winter, splits, open frames, "field goals", injuries
Hobbies:cuddling, bowling, reading, singing, writing, playing "rock band"
Vices:I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper and Bowling
Virtues:“Search others for their virtues, thy self for thy vices”
Benjamin Franklin
Heroes:Mobo, my brother, anyone out there who is living their dream.
How are all of you doing out there in bowling land? I've had a great start to the season with my new high games of 246, 255, and 235, and a high series of 577 so far!
I'm still chasing that elusive 600, but with games like those and a running average of 182 in my Sunday league, I know it's just a matter of time. I'm up 26 pins of average since last season and it's ONLY OCTOBER.
Of course, I'm insane and I am bowling like 4 times / week now, but still, practice is practice, right?
OK, I am signed up for summer league (at an alley I'm not used to) for PBA Experience!
With all those patterns to play on, I need to keep my bowling ball addiction in check.
Maybe the magic bowling ball fairy will grant me a Cell Pearl or a Rogue Cell for my upcoming birthday.
Speaking of equipment, etc. Do any of you out there tape your fingers? I bowled 7 games in a row yesterday and I definitely think I'm going to need to start taping.
I don't really want to go up in grip size, so I'm looking for something really thin that will just protect me from friction burns.
My highest series to date is 567. I did that in the tournament I just won, which I suppose is a great time to bowl that well!
Last Thursday I bowled a 532, and on Saturday I bowled a 556, so I think I am starting to close in on that elusive 600.
I'm torn between doing a normal summer league this summer to raise my book average high enough to compete in Queens next season, or doing a PBA experience league which will likely LOWER my book average and keep me in the smaller leagues for another year or so.

[Tournaments]
Hmm...so it seems I might have won myself a title. Standings are "unofficial" for another week, but right now I am the winner of the singles handicap event.
I went into the tournament with my December 1st average of 151 and proceeded to shoot my highest scratch series ever of 567. (172, 203, 192)
With my handicap that brought me to 726, leading me to #1 over about 300 women bowlers.
Not bad for my first singles tournament, eh? Too bad I bowled like crap in doubles and team, or I might have been a contender for all events.
